How to Register a Sender ID with Cellcast

Overview

This guide explains how to register an alphanumeric SMS Sender ID through the Cellcast platform.

From 1 July 2026, Sender IDs used in Australia must be registered through the ACMA Sender ID Register.

 

Before You Start

Ensure you have:

  • Sender ID (3–11 characters)
  • ABN
  • Company name
  • Website
  • Business address
  • Authorised contact name
  • Authorised contact email
  • Authorised contact phone number

Registration Steps

1. Log Into Cellcast

Access your Cellcast account.

2. Open Sender ID Registration

Navigate to:

Register ID → Add Business Name

3. Enter Sender ID Details

Complete:

  • Sender ID
  • Description
  • Purpose of use
  • Brand ownership confirmation

4. Enter Business Details

Complete:

  • Company name
  • ABN
  • Website
  • Address

5. Submit Registration

Review the information and submit.

The Sender ID status will display as:

Inactive 

while the application is being processed.

6. Compliance Review

The Cellcast Compliance Team reviews the application and may request additional information if required.

7. ACMA Verification

An email will be sent from:

no-reply@digital.acma.gov.au

to the authorised contact.

8. Complete Verification

Click the secure link and:

  • Log in with Digital ID (myID)
  • Confirm the registration
  • Submit approval

9. Approval and Activation

Once approved by ACMA:

  • Registration is finalised
  • Cellcast activates the Sender ID
  • You can begin sending using the registered Sender ID

Do I need a Digital ID?

Yes. Digital ID (myID) is required to complete ACMA verification.

 

What if I don't receive the ACMA email?

Check your spam and junk folders. If you still cannot locate it, contact Cellcast.

 

How long does registration take?

Most registrations are completed within a few business days after verification.

 

What status will I see after submission?

Initially, your Sender ID will display as Inactive until ACMA approval has been completed.

 

Who can approve the registration?

The authorised business contact listed on the registration request.
